An article published Dec. 11 incorrectly reported the amount of a shopping spree blood donors are eligible to win for donating blood through United Blood Services through the end of December. The correct value of the shopping spree is $500.

Educators receive NBCTS status (The Meridian Star)

NBPTS’ announcement on Wednesday includes teachers who are newly certified as well as those with renewed certification status. This brings the total number of accomplished teachers and school counselors certified by NBPTS to more than 82,000.

Attorney General Jim Hood said minutes ago in a press release Stephen Risher, a Southeast Middle/High School teacher, age 58, of 874 Bonita Drive in Meridian, is charged with five counts of possession of child porn.
